Book . Some People Need Killing

I listened to a podcast (The Linya-Linya Show) where Patricia became a guest and their topic was this book. I was already seeing it trend but then I was so invested in this after listening to the podcast.

I immediately wanted to read it but I’m in a middle of another book so I promised myself that this will be my next book.

I’m so stressed right now and my insomnia is once again terrible so I decided to start reading so I can take my mind elsewhere than my current reality.

This is the first time I’m reading this kind of genre and I’m actually enjoying it. I never invested reading history books most especially when I was still in school maybe because it was just part of the past that was being repeated over and over again. The difference in this book is that I’m living in this generation and I’m aware of the happenings.

Slow progress but I’m enjoying it and somehow I do search on Youtube some events that was mentioned. Even searched for the crime scene and some faces of the mentioned ones.

Currently on 17% and wow if only these statements were out in public prior to the 2016 election and if only the mainstream media expose that again and again then maybe Duterte didn’t won the presidency.

As much as I’m enjoying this book, it also needs to end.

Though surviving and fighting in this country never ends as long as the system stays the same.

I thought that it was a slow progress though I’m very much aware that acknowledgment and notes took up lots of pages too due to the fact checking.

The year when Duterte became president I think the year when I also stopped watching the news. It was sickening to hear everyday about the killings and knowing those people are most likely killed by the police and they might not get justice.

Even being someone that is innocent you can’t deny how these killings gave us real scare. They made killing to be normal and it’s okay.

The mistakes that was made by police killing innocent minors also killed their dream.

Kids witnessing the killing of their parents hopefully can heal from the trauma.

The families that was affected with the war on drugs hopefully will be healed but never forget what happened.

I wish they will not turn like the ex-president.

Some people need killing and it doesn’t just apply in the Philippines

If you are looking for something to read please give this book a chance most especially if you are like me who lived the years where Duterte was the President of the Philippines (2016-2022).

You can’t ignore the facts most especially today where there’s already news article and video that’s published online.

Got tears on some part most especially on the epilogue.

Just the other day, a viral photo of someone handling a hard bound of this book to Duterte.

I wonder if he will read it but will it going to change the outcome? No.

Will it bring back lives that was taken? Obviously not.
