Beyond every game.

No one will understand Gem and I when it comes to basketball most especially PBA. Well, maybe Lhea and Kit will but other than them, no one will.

I posted on my instagram before that "On PBA, we don't support a specific team because we're fan of different players but UAAP is a different story" which is so true.

(I'm here again with my history of basketball) I started watching basketball when I was a sophomore in high school then I somehow stopped watching when I left a group of friends who played for the school. Then I met my (ex)best friend during junior year and I never stopped since then. I somehow wished I know how to play but being a fan is better than not having interest on basketball.

Before, I do watch NBA but somethings are a bit complicated to understand with the trade and stuff so I stopped but I'm a fan of a few players and some teams. I don't like PBA before because back then, I don't understand some issues but mostly, I don't understand why people are so loyal to a team when most players come and go. (I still don't understand until now but I respect them for being loyal to a team who doesn't have a fix line up for the rest of time. And I have no idea how they adjust when a player they love was traded and they need to stick with the love for the team).

I'm not starting any campaign or whatever but I'm really a huge fan of different players.

~

I started watching UAAP basketball during junior year and since then I'm a huge UAAP basketball fan. I used to like different teams then FEU won it's 19th title when I was a senior and I hate them because I don't like the color of their jersey and less than a year after that, I'm enrolled in FEU.

Since 2006, I'm a loyal supporter of FEU basketball but I prioritized school so I just watch games on TV every weekend when there was a basketball game or if I'm free during the weekday game. Luckily, some TVs at school are open when there is a game.

I started to watch live during the 72nd season and I never stopped since then. Season 74 was the most memorable because Gem and I became close because of basketball and everything since then is a history and we are still building memories inside and outside of the coliseum and the arena.
Last Wednesday, together with my aunt and uncle we watched PBA. This is the first time to watch with them and my first time to watch a PBA game in Antipolo. My experience in one word: Insane!

I've been watching live in Araneta for years, witnessed some PBA players when they were just playing in the UAAP or PBA D-League and when they go outside Manila, everyone is so excited to see them for the first time and to watch a game live. It was cute because they cheer loud and they were a bit innocent compare to my experience (not trying to insult anyone). Also the live-basketball-action is another story.

I even see some PBA players from FEU back then. I still remember when I first saw Arwind Santos on LB wearing a red shirt talking to some friends; when I saw Barocca in front of the Admin building; when we are crossing Morayta together with Benedict Fernandez, Rachel Ann Daquis together with Mac Baracael, when I rode a jeepney from LRT to Morayta and Paul Sanga and Aldrech Ramos was on the same jeepney. And now, their famous on PBA. Every player from FEU, we usually support them because we all bleed green and gold. (I remember the Exhibition Game). Some players are not yet famous because they haven't played in the PBA but they are somehow involve in a way like Jens Knuttel is a practice player of Ginebra.

Not just the FEU players, I've seen Greg Slaughter, Emman Monfort, do their moves when they were still in Ateneo and I used to hate them but now I'm just amazed on how they play and how people cheer for them.

While some are not that famous or because some people are just looking on the one side but I know them because I saw them play in UAAP like Mac Cardona, Joseph Yeo, Ty Tang, JP Erram, Bacon Austria, Nico Salva, Alex Nuyles, Eric Camson, name it as long as it was from the UAAP batch of LA Tenorio, JV Casio, Chris Tiu, Arwind Santos, Jeff Chan, Jonas Villanueva, etc.

I do enjoy watching basketball but I don't really cheer for a specific team when it comes to PBA but I do bet on a team when there is a game. Usually, it's always different because I like different players and sometimes the coaches or their assistant too! Haha because basically, they are somehow on the collegiate too! Hi to the Racela brothers, Coach Johnny A., Coach Chard and Coach Jason Webb, Coach Topex, Coach Luigi, Coach Ronnie, Coach Eric, Coach Leo, etc. Haha. And to the court side reporter, Ms. Erika Padilla, Apple David, Rizza Diaz, Nikko Ramos, Aaron Atayde, Sir Magoo, and to the daddy minion, Sir Mico Halili. Haha.

Comment on the things I know about basketball and the side dishes? Hahaha. And if you watch different podcast or webisode of any talk about basketball, you will know more stuff other than just the game.

Somtimes, try also to see the stat sheet too because it will take you to a different world from the court. Haha.

That NLEX vs Ginebra game was entertaining and it doesn't have a lot of action though a dunk is a dunk. Hehe. Don't make me mention the buzzer-beater of Mac Belo. ;)

I still prefer all Filipino Cup when it comes to PBA.

I don't know if I make sense but thanks for reading. Haha

Comments? Violent reactions? Suggestions?

Lastly, my advice to every basketball fan;
"the game is not yet over until you hear the final buzzer".

Last Day.

Yesterday, was the last day of the submission for PBA draft that will happen on November 3. Meaning that the graduating players from different universities may fullfil their dream on joining PBA (Philippine Basketball Association), have a good income, playing with or against their idols and to play what they really love, basketball.

Out of the blue, I checked twitter (I do this a lot but its was different than usual...) just to read news happening around then there was this tweet saying that Terrence Romeo will pass an application and then I freaked out as well as my friends as I broke the news.

As a Tamaraw and as a Terrence Bill fan, I was heart broken, I want to cry, I want to ask WHY, possible scenarios pop up on my head, and there was the broken promises.

At first it was unacceptable but at the end, we just have to accept and mostly respect his decision. An article said that if he will stay in the collegiate division, there's a possibilities that he will enter the PBA by 2015 since next year, PBA draft will be back to its original month which is August (why was it November this year???? D: ) and UAAP is on-going by then so graduating players will not be able to join it and they can join by 2015 and that's the case of Terrence Romeo as well as LA Revilla who I assume I read right that he was the last applicant for the draft.

Hours passed by and sources said that Terrence Romeo still have until 5PM then by 3PM, someone confirmed that he passed an application 5min ago. I was broken by the news and I just can't imagine UAAP without him next season but I'm happy that we watched several games this season not knowing that this will also be the last season that we will see Terrence playing for FEU.

Then there was the partial list with 75 names listed and seriously, my mood changes as I saw the name of Christopher 'Ping' Exciminiano. Yahoooo!!! I'm happy for Ping and I also read good comments on how he improved since he left the FEU team and even we didn't watched PBA D-League for months, I saw article/s that he really improved by scoring 20+ points on a game? Wow. I wish we knew him before season 74, such a good guy.

We do not know what was Terrence huge reason to left the collegiate division but all we can do is respect him, his decision whatever it was.

I asked Gem if it is possible if you weren't pick then just go back to the collegiate but I think I don't need an answer to that. He is Terrence Bill Romeo, UAAP S76 MVP, a scorer, a baller, scored 83 freaking points in his high school career, got a Rookie Award when he entered the collegiate division, scored 30+ points in 3 games and a consistent 20+ points in most games. Terrence Bill Romeo.

I still want to see him play for FEU for his final year and also to experience a championship and bring that championship back to Morayta in his college journey but.....

I know Mike, Carl, Belo, Pogoy, Achie, etc are still there, Russel Escoto will be back, we have a bunch of guys from FEU Fern who I believe are tough since I watched when they won that championship last year, we still have Coach Nash (the coolest coach ever)... We still believe.

Terrence Bill Romeo,

I hope that you don't regret this decision, I know that no matter what happen you will be picked ASAP.

Thank you for bringing some noise to the UAAP. Maturity will come in your way and I was hoping that you will gain that in UAAP but you have decided and hopefully you can handle situation in a way that it should be handled.

Gem wished that you will be team mates with RR and Ping so our tickets will not be so expensive. HAHAHA.

Wishing you all the best and PBA is way more different than UAAP so be a good boy.

Maturity, attitude and pass the ball if needed.

If you want to consult us don't be shy to contact me and we will give you advice from our very honest opinion from a different point of view and a little bit outside the box. HAHA (no joke we're serious)

We will miss you and thank you bro!

FEU Pep Rally: The Exhibition Game

I don't know if you know but I was excited that UAAP will be open again for a new season and in preparation of every school there will be the usual Pep Rally to introduce the current athletes who will play on each sport,  I have a picture of each team like from Chess, Volleyball, Fencing, Basketball, etc. It will just be burden to me to put every group photo in which I forgot what are those team except for volleyball and basketball, so I decided not to put the group picture anymore ... I went to FEU last July 9, 2012 to get some UAAP Opening tickets but SM tickets didn't distribute the tickets to the participating school properly (because the whole week only upper box and general admission is on FEU, unlike last year when it was in Araneta tickets were distributed properly, and I don't know what's wrong / happened to SM tickets .. maybe they are not prepared yet) luckily, Gem is free that day and pep rally is scheduled by 3pm at the gym so we went there for so many reason ... HAHAHA and after introducing the last team, one of the coaches of the FEU Men's basketball team says that there will be an exhibition game between the current players and some Alumni (meaning some PBA stars!) haha. I do watch UAAP when I was in high school and now I forgot who are the players before .. HAHAHA. As far as I remember the present alumni players were: Arwind Santos, Denok Miranda, Jeff Chan, Jonas Villanueva and some familiar faces and some I don't really know (sorry).

So to be fair with the every team that was introduced, I just put the photos of the exhibition game (bias because the men's basketball team is included.. lol).

Since the FEU Gym area is being renovated the area for the students is too small good thing students are allowed to be seated on the court side.

I'm amazed when the they do group talk (gosh, I don't know what to call this group hug? group meeting?) HAHAHA but the jammas is mopping the area (maybe he want to be on the team. HAHA

Finally, a nice photo (my photography skill is being tested when I'm watching basketball) for example on this photo: I like how they are all listening and the how crowded all of their feet and nice shoes. I just love this photo.

Zoomed out photo, still on that group hug / group meeting of them together with their Nike poster way back Season 73 (?) I'm not sure ...

Jens Knuttel - his last playing year for FEU was last season but I'm sure you can still catch him on PBA D-League when it open a new season (maybe soon)

on the 3rd quarter Arwind Santos played already!!!!!! The PBA Petron Blaze star!!!! :)

not so perfect photo but I just like the transition of this photo .. the upper photo  was  .. when someone is on the free throw line and you know what will happen after ... hehe

Jonas Villanueva (his name is familiar but I don't remember seeing him play before)

Jeff Chan with the back of Arwind Santos and Carl Cruz while Mac Belo on the free throw line

the shoes

Arwind Santos, **** (I don't know the other guy), Denok Miranda, Jeff Chan and Jonas Villanueva

Final score: tie at 81 but there's no OT because it's an exhibition game .. but over all it was a good game.
How I wish there's Barocca, Aldrech, Paul Sanga, Pipo, Cervantes and Ping ...

This is a super late post but it feels good to see a basketball game again after a month of not watching one live ...
UAAP Opening will be on a different post but I'll be posting Nicki Minaj experience first since it happened before the UAAP Opening. hehe.

My Past Time

This is so overdue. PBA game ... I don't know, I forgot. HAHAHA but yep once in a while I watched basketball but my "once in a while" will be over once UAAP got back on track! Imagine my Tumblr having a lot of UAAP basketball post last year. I think this was April 27, where we meet at SM Centerpoint then watched FilOil Pre-season (I don't have photos from that game) and rushed to Araneta to watch PBA. It was a great day with Gem aka my basketball buddy/dude. Basketball is our stress reliever even though we spent almost 1,000PHP a day and hopefully we will not repeat that this year or this coming season of UAAP since I told her that I lost the excitement on watching some games most especially when it will be on MOA Arena for couple of reason and she is busy with work and most important thing is we are saving some money (the hardest thing). So back on my PBA post, this was a game from the Finals where I forgot what game it is ...

exactly my view from Upper B

maximizing the zoom of my camera and this what I got

10 more minutes for the 3rd Quarter
I really not into PBA but sometimes I like it because of Gem. So much love for basketball and before I forgot, I admire James Yap on playing he is a good basketball player. I don't know how but when watching PBA, you can't avoid to say WHOA! or sometimes you can't avoid just to seat, out of nowhere you will stand because someone did an awesome move.

About MOA Arena, maybe I'll watch a few games just to experience the new place. Argggghhh. MOA Arena, WHY SO FAR? :(
