Romblon 2016

My Photographs : Romblon

You can check my day-to-day blog and more photos of my Romblon trip on the links above.

Here's a video that I made from that trip and a little story while making it was, I'm trying to lessen the minutes since most of my previous videos are up to 10-12 minutes but I really want to use a song from Tonight Alive (Limitless) that makes me convinced to go on this trip. It's okay for me to cut the few parts but JV was making faces that makes me laugh because I really don't know that and I want to include that. Haha

On the other side, I don't want to cut a song on the end just like what happened to my Palawan video so I extended it to be perfect for 4 songs. I also didn't use any photos this time unlike the last time because I was able to transfer the videos from the GoPro to the iPad unlike on its previous version, when it used to asked if I want to download a low/high resolution of videos.

I'm happy with the outcome but I think it is still too long. Haha but I really want to show you how was the view on the boat trip and while on the beach and the travel on the road.

Since I didn't include photos, the DSLR photos are just on my Tumblr (still on queue as of posting this). How I wish I was able to bring the GoPro while we hang out by the beach that time but I was charging it.

Can't wait for new adventures and new places to see.

Romblon 2016 . Day 4

Woke up a little bit late because our itinerary for the day is just around San Andres. We were supposed to go to Paksi but they said that the island was closed due to development. Change plans we are just going to Mablaran Falls less than an hour from where we're staying.

They said it was still a little bit early for us to leave so Gem and I went first to the beach side and the water is so inviting so we dipped our legs. Hehe.

We arrived in Mablaran by 8am and good thing we were there early because we owned the place for one hour before the locals arrived and we were able to enjoy it. We left Mablaran Falls at 9:30am. Bhudz and Kuya John suggest we go to Agpudlos and wow.

We just stayed there for a few minutes and there was something in the water that so itchy but other than that, it was an amazing place.

We went back home (Yes. Home in San Andres) before lunch and cleaned up and fix our things since we were supposed to leave by 3pm to go to the port for we will be back in Manila. Our time to leave was at 5pm via Montenegro. (geez adjust your schedule for 2Go if you are planning to go anywhere via ferry).

We arrived in Batangas Pier by 2am. Gem requested some Jollibee along the way and we arrived in Paranaque by 4:30am.

Romblon 2016 . Day 3

We slept early the night before by 10pm we're lights off already. We woke up like 4am because the (again) only trip going back to Sta. Fe will leave Hambil by 6am. We went outside first before leaving to witness a beautiful sunrise.

Did you know that you can get to Carabao island via Caticlan? Yes. Just check the schedule. Carabao Island is just a boat away from the island of Boracay and Carabao Island is such a gem and it was hiding behind the fame of Boracay. Some even called it the twin of Boracay. The sand is even powdery than Boracay. I love the feeling of it on my feet and I'm missing it so bad now.

So we left Hambil at 6am and we get in Sta. Fe by 7am. The jeepney going to Odiongan was already full when we get there. We have a choice to be on top of the jeepney but it is already full and another choice is motorcycle but since we are five it will be expensive and another 2 hours of travel without breakfast is bad news so we tried to walk towards Sta. Fe and there's another jeepney that is supposed to leave by 9am. We decided to eat first at some eatery that's already open.

It was on a beach side so it wasn't boring to wait. There are kids who are swimming and the clouds is so amazing.

We were back in Odiongan before 11am and we went to Tita's office and it was embarrassing since we are not presentable. Haha. What would you expect after a 2 hours travel. We can stay a bit longer on Hambil but we were about to attend a birthday party in the afternoon that's why we get back immediately. Gem advice me to bring pants which is very unusual for me to bring because I'm usually a short girl when traveling and I wasn't able to bring the pants in Hambil. Gem texted her mom to get my pants underneath my bag but she got another shorts. Haha. Epic fail but good thing she was able to get me another shirt because what was left on my bag was not presentable for a birthday party. Lol.

As we are not as good as you expect us to be, Tita asked around on where we can take a bath before we eat lunch and we went to a house nearby where we took a bath. It will take time if we will go back to San Andres and go back in town for the birthday. So thankful to people who are welcoming other people to their home just to take a bath. Hehe. Their hospitality makes me amazed. (Thank you!)

We went back to the office at almost 1am for lunch and look around for some eatery apparently the one where we were supposed to eat just have only 4 rice left. Gem and I bought chicken at a fast-food and it took us a while so they already ate without us since Tita needs to get back at the office. We look for rice at the other eatery but no rice left and we are nearly pissed like seriously no rice? Haha. We can still survive so the office offered to cook some rice but they cook too much for Gem and I. Haha. They served us like almost 4 cups of rice. Haha and guess what, we cleared the plate. Haha (too bad no before and after photo because of hunger). Then we sleep at a quarter. We sleep everywhere during this trip. Well, we do a lot of things everywhere. Haha

We were called at 5pm to leave for the birthday. We just ate and stayed only a few minutes at the birthday but we walked in the street after and waited for our ride going back to San Andres.

Riding on a motorcycle from Odiongan to San Andres is such an experience. Almost 30 minutes and mostly no street lights and it's either going uphill or downhill with just an open field on the side. Much to appreciate life and NO TRAFFIC maybe the best to experience when we all have it here in the metro and that's one of my favorite thing in Romblon.

Then it was our last night in Romblon.

Romblon 2016 . Day 2

Woke up at 4am, ate breakfast and we are on our way to Odiongan Market for us to get to Sta. Fe where we will ride a boat for 1 hour to Carabao Island. Unfortunately the jeep to Sta. Fe will leave at 9am and we were there at 6am already. The jeepney driver taught us that we can ride his jeep bound to Looc then from there we can transfer to a jeep to Sta. Fe. There's another option, hire a motorcycle to go straight to Sta. Fe but since we are 5 it will to expensive like it's 500 per ride or per head (I wasn't able to clear that but it's a bit pricey but rest assured that you'll get there fast)

We were just right on time that we were able to ride the only trip to Sta. Fe and it went around the market where some of the residents who bought whole sale chips, fruits and vegetables boarded on the mini bus. It was an educational trip to experience and appreciate their lifestyle compare to the people who are in the metro. Everything in there was on schedule and there's just like few trip from one point to another.

And it's a perfect day, we were just right in time for the another only trip to Carabao island for 100PHP. I was amazed (first timer alert! Haha because even motorcycle are being boarded on boats to be transferred from one island to another. Motorcycle is the main transportation in Romblon. Seems like everyone in the island have). It took us 1 hour to get there and it was a beautiful day.

We get there before 11am and it was so freaking hot. We were offered an island trip to Kuding-kuding but they are offering us 700PHP ($17) and that's pricey according to Gem and I agree.

We ate lunch at the eatery nearby and then we rested until the afternoon. Well mostly we just enjoy the good reception and WiFi because we don't have good signal ever since we left Batangas Port on Sunday morning.

we were joking that we are the tourist of the week since it feels like there's no other tourist than ourselves. Haha.

We went out like 3pm to take pictures and decided to swim by 5pm. The sun sets on the other side of the island so it's like a sunrise on the afternoon. We left the beach before dark and we decided to eat dinner at BB Bar and Cafe. We ate too much fats. Lol

The electricity at Carabao island have a schedule and it's 1pm-11pm and 4am-6am.

Romblon 2016 . Day 1

Left the house before 5am then I was in JAM terminal in Kamuning before 6am to Batangas Pier. We are scheduled to leave Batangas Pier via 2Go by 10am ETA was 5pm/6pm.

It was my first time to travel via ferry for that long and I like it because we just slept most of the time. Haha. But I know it's good at some point but it also eat up a lot of time.

We arrived on time and we were welcomed by a breathtaking sunset sky. Omg it was amazing and I took that as a sign of not regretting my decision to go for it.

From port of Odiongan we traveled at least 30 minutes to get to San Andres where we will be staying and there was no good reception. So perfect to be off grid for a while.

We ate dinner then clean up, fix our things because we re going to Carabao Island early the next day.
