UAAP S79 / LXXIX . Rant

UAAP Season 79 or LXXIX haven't been started but I'm disappointed when I read that there will be no games on the opening date but yeah that's understandable. The most unacceptable is the schedule because I think it wasn't planned enough because there are games that should be the main game but it wasn't. Hopefully second round schedule will be a good one. 

The highly unacceptable is that the school hymn should be sung before the game than the usual which is after the game. Seriously? I will agree 100% if the national anthem should be sang before games but the school hymn? NO.

What do audience do before the game? Go to restroom, buy snack or still lining up for tickets, waiting for their friends and worst running late because you came from school or work / you were stuck in traffic going to the venue most especially if you came from the north and the venue is MOA then you still look for a parking space or walk from the bus stop to the Arena. 

I haven't read the article on Spin.ph yet when I was able to talk to my friends about it and we are totally against it because we already experienced being late for a game and we fucking love to sing the school hymn whether we sing it first or not. It's even funny when I mentioned on who to sing first are they going to have a toss coin or what, then I even say that maybe it will be another premonition on who will win or lose because they sung the school hymn first. 

Then I read the Spin.ph article that makes me angry. First, the light uniform will sing first then the dark uniform will follow but then the reason on why putting the school hymn first was "We noticed that it might not be the best time because everybody is tired" WTF. Seriously? Yes people tend to leave even before the last buzzer of every game but that doesn't mean that the true / loyal fans / supporters / 6th man will leave before the school hymn and we even respect the other team while singing theirs. Its basketball, its better to miss the first half than missing the second half but having the school hymn before the game.....

Swear it is fulfilling to sing the school hymn after game most especially if you will sing it first.

Running time is also an issue. I think singing the hymn was perfect most especially when the correspondents are mentioning the final score and who was the best player, etc. 

Have you watched a PBA game? Do you think it's fun not singing or doing anything right after the game? When the players are just going straight to dugout? It was pretty boring and watching such games makes me miss the UAAP where we can show how we fully support the school and the team. 

I'm not sure what will happen now every after game but sadly, we can't sing the school hymn. Well I think we can still since there are no violation or penalty about it and maybe it will also depend on the drummers of each team on what will happen after. 

Later UAAP S79 will be officially open and we are excited despite of the changes because there are so many things to look forward to like 5 teams changed their coaches, there will be new batch of rookies, the veterans that we witnessed on previous years, the post-Kiefer Ravena / Von Pessumal / Kevin F3rr3r / Ed Daquioag / Karim Abdul / Mac Belo / Mike Tolomia / Roger Pogoy era.
